National Parks Around Ulaanbaatar

Day 01: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, capital city of Mongolia

Welcome to Mongolia! Upon arrival, your tour driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel and help you with the check-in procedure. We leave the rest of the day free for you to be on your own. You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance flight or possibly from jet-lag.

If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask your hotel reception for recommendations for nearest good Indian dining or places to see.

Day 02: Hustai National Park trip (Wild Horse Park)

Today at 09.00am, you will meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby, and then head to the Hustai National Park which is home of last wild horses in their natural environment in the world, known as Perzevalski horse (takhi). We will visit a small Ger information center about the national park, wild horses and how they was reintroduced into the wild some years ago now for European zoos.

In the evening, we will take short drive to see for wild horse Takhi in their natural habitat. Evening or morning time is the best way to see these wild horses. There is great opportunity to take photo for these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, marmot, eagle and more wild animals. Besides of the wild animals you can find here beautiful sceneries of the Mongolian nature that features mountain and steppe.

Activities: see last wild horses in their natural habitat.

Day 03: Terelj National Park trip & amp; Horse riding

After breakfast, drive to Terelj National Park, which is one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia. You can see the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; some of them look quite similar to turtles. Check-in, Lunch and take some personal refreshment in the Ger camp, which is located in the most spectacular spots in the National park. Mongolia is the best destination for horse riding trip and especially Terelj national park is the best recommended place for horse trek. In the afternoon, we will explore the national park on horseback for around 2 hours and ride to see Turtle Rock - interesting rock formation looking like a turtle.

Continue horse riding to visit Ariyabal meditation temple - surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sits at top of the mountain. The distance between the gate and the actual temple is about 1 km and it is only accessible by walking. To get to the top, you would cross the suspension bridge and climb up on 108 stairs, according to Buddhist prayer beads. This small hike is seen as a ritual to cleanse ones sins. From the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking the Terelj National Park.

Also we will visit local nomadic family to experience firsthand how people live the country side, a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. Here you can help the herders with their daily tasks to get an idea of how nomadic people alongside of their livestock.

Drive back to the Ger camp for dinner and overnight. Explore walking and hiking around the Ger camp.

Activities: Explore Terelj National Park on horseback and ride to Tutle Rock and Ariyabal meditation temple and visit nomadic family.

Day 04: Genghis Khans Statue Complex Classic Highlight in UB city trip

This morning, you can get up early, walking around the camp for take photos of wild flowers or just enjoying in wild nature.

After breakfast, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we will visit Genghis Khan Statue Complex which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops occupy the base structure. From here, we use an elevator or walk to the head of the horse through chest and back neck of the horse, where we can have farseeing and good panorama view over the complex area.

After lunch at Hazara Indian restaurant in the city, we will start guided city tour and visit Genghis Khans square & amp; Parliament House and National Museum of Mongolia to get an overview of Mongolias history and culture. Examine on nomadic life, including Stone and Bronze Age artifacts, traditional costumes, and sacred relics.

Next, we will visit Gandan Monastery, Mongolias largest functioning Buddhist monastery. Listen to the horns calling lamas and monks to temple, and capture the monks daily rituals while visiting the adjoining Megjid Janraisig and Temples. The temple houses features a 26- meter-high majestic gilded statue of Migjid Janraisig.

After that you will be transferred to the hotel for some refreshment in the hotel. If you want to go shopping for souvenirs and local products, your guide will be ready to serve you for that.

In the evening at 18.00, we will visit Wonders of Mongolia folklore show by famous Tumen-Ekh ensemble - is one of the most successful folk art groups to share traditional Mongolian music with the world, having traveled to over 40 countries.

Day 5: Departure from Ulaanbaatar.

As your trip comes to end, your driver will transfer you to the Chinghis Khan airport for your departure.
