What is tourist Ger camp?
Its most popular accommodation type for countryside trip in Mongolia that consists of 20-30 Gers (Mongolian traditional yurt), a restaurant and some entertainment facilities. Each Ger has 2 to 4 beds and furnished with a table, chairs and a wood-stove. Modern toilet and hot shower facilities is separate house. The restaurant mostly serves with Western and Mongolian meals. Most visitors prefer to stay in Ger, which provide an authentic taste of Mongolian culture and adventure, their most enjoyable experience in Mongolia.

Day 01: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Classic Highlights in UB city trip

Upon arrival in Ulan Bator airport your driver and guide will greet you and you will be transferred to your hotel. After some personal refreshment, our city tour starts with visiting Museum of Mongolian National History the museum presents Mongolian history and culture from prehistoric times to the present day. Next visit is Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as government palace, banks and theaters and post office. There is an equestrian statue of Sukhbaatar and a massive Bronze statue of Genghis khan with his four warriors in front of Parliament House. After lunch at Namaste Indian restaurant, we will visit Wonders of Mongolia folklore show by famous Tumen-Ekh ensemble - is one of the most successful folk art groups to share traditional Mongolian music with the world, having traveled to over 40 countries. In the evening, we will visit Zaisan Memorial Hill which is located in the south side of Ulaanbaatar City, right beside the Bogd Khan Mountain having a best view of the city and surrounding hills. Around at 6.00pm, transfer to your hotel.

Day 02: Elsen tasarkhai sand dunes (Mini Gobi Desert) visit camel herder family & Bactrian camel trail

After relaxing breakfast, you will meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby, and then drive to Elsen tasarkhai magnificent sand dunes - surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km.

Lunch and check-in at Ger camp near the sand dunes. After some rest and relaxation hours, we will visit local camel herder family in their Ger, explore their unique nomadic lifestyle. Its chance to try drinking Hormog (fermented Mongolian camel milk).

The sand dunes are the perfect place for camel riding. We will discover this magnificent place on camel back. Mongolia is home to 2/3 of the two-humped Bactrian camels in the world. It is a gentle, calm and extraordinary patient animal and can carry on without water for a month. Bet, you never rode a Bactrian camel, riding a Bactrian camel is very comfortable. Its two humps support you from both sides and easy pace will comfort you so much. Return to the Ger camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Kharakorum & Erdenezuu Buddhist Monastery

After breakfast, we will drive to Karakorum and Erdenezuu Monastery. Karakorum was not only the capital of the vast Mongolian Empire, but the epic center of trade along Silk Road. However, the Karakorum of today is a small settlement with little focus on tourism. Today there is a museum does show off some of the artefacts theyve recovered so far, Upon arrival in the village, we will visit museum of Karakorum and learn about beautiful ancient Karakorum. Then we will visit to the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. Here you can see interesting listen to monk chanting Buddhist sutras. Return to ger camp and have dinner.

Day 04: Hustai National Park trip & Hiking to see Wild Horses

In the morning at 8am our trip start to Hustai National Park - is home of last wild horses in their natural environment in the world, known as Perzevalski horse (takhi). The National park has over 450 species of vascular plants, 200 of which are medicinal.

After lunch and check-in the Ger camp, we will explore around the camp and visit a small information center about the national park, wild horses and how they was reintroduced into the wild some years ago now for European zoos.

The best time to observe these wild horses in their natural habitat is around 2-3hrs earlier than sunset, during they come down from mountains for water to stream. We will take short drive and hiking to see the horses. There is great opportunity to take photo for these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, marmot, eagle and more wild animals. Besides of the wild animals you can find here beautiful sceneries of the Mongolian nature that features mountain and steppe.

Day 5: Genghis Khans Statue Complex Terelj National Park trip

At 9am we will drive to visit Genghis Khan Statue Complex which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops occupy the base structure. From here, we use an elevator or walk to the head of the horse through chest and back neck of the horse, where we can have farseeing and good panorama view over the complex area.

After explore the statue complex, take short drive to Terelj National Park. Its one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia. You can see the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; some of them look quite similar to turtles.

Check-in at Terelj LodgeGer camp, which located in the most spectacular spots in the National park. Take some personal refreshment in the ger camp.

In the afternoon, we will do short drive to see Turtle Rock - interesting rock formation looking like a turtle and visit Ariyabal meditation temple - surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sits at top of the mountain. The distance between the gate and the actual temple is about 1 km and it is only accessible by walking. To get to the top, you would cross the suspension bridge and climb up on 108 stairs, according to Buddhist prayer beads. This small hike is seen as a ritual to cleanse ones sins. From the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking the Terelj National Park.

Also we will visit local nomadic family to experience firsthand how people live the country side, a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. Here you can help the herders with their daily tasks to get an idea of how nomadic people alongside of their livestock. Return to the Ger camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 06: Terelj National Park transfer to the airport & departure

Terelj National Park transfer to the airport & departure As your memorable trip comes to end, at 10am you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to your next destination or home. It takes 2hrs to reach the airport from the Ger camp Meals: Breakfast.

Paved road is 60% and earth-road is 40 %. During the trip, approximately it takes 2-6 hours driving (80-280km) from one to next destination depending on road and weather condition on each driving days. But, it is not nonstop drive! We can short stop frequently everywhere along the road for photographs, toilets, stretch and meet with local nomads.
