Day 1 : Arrival in Budapest – Welcome to the Pearl of the Danube
Upon arrival at Budapest International Airport, complete immigration formalities and transfer to your hotel in the city center (approx. 20 km / 30–40 minutes). After check-in and some relaxation, begin your introduction to Hungary with an evening orientation walk along the iconic Danube River. Witness the illuminated skyline featuring the majestic Hungarian Parliament Building, one of Europe’s most stunning architectural masterpieces. You may also enjoy a scenic Danube River cruise (optional) offering panoramic views of the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Budapest.
Day 2 : Budapest Sightseeing – Buda & Pest Exploration
After breakfast, proceed for a comprehensive full-day city tour covering both Buda and Pest sides (local travel approx. 15–20 km / 6–7 hours sightseeing). Begin on the Buda side with a visit to the historic Buda Castle, followed by the charming Fisherman's Bastion offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Danube and Pest skyline. Visit the iconic Matthias Church, known for its colorful tiled roof and Gothic architecture. Later, cross over to the Pest side to explore Heroes' Square and stroll along Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage site lined with elegant buildings. In the afternoon, relax at the famous Széchenyi Thermal Bath for a rejuvenating experience. Overnight stay in Budapest.
Day 3 : Day Excursion to Danube Bend – Szentendre & Visegrád
Post breakfast, embark on a scenic excursion to the Danube Bend region (approx. 70 km / 1.5 hours one way). First, visit the artistic town of Szentendre, known for its cobbled streets, colorful houses, and vibrant art galleries. Continue to Visegrád to explore the hilltop Visegrád Citadel offering spectacular views of the Danube River valley. Optionally, proceed to Esztergom, home to Hungary’s largest church, the Esztergom Basilica. After a day filled with scenic beauty and cultural exploration, return to Budapest by evening. Overnight stay in Budapest.
Day 4 : Excursion to Lake Balaton – The Hungarian Sea
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Lake Balaton (approx. 135 km / 2–2.5 hours one way), Central Europe’s largest freshwater lake. Visit the charming peninsula village of Tihany, famous for its lavender fields and the historic Tihany Abbey offering stunning lake views. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the lakeside promenade and explore local markets and cafés. You may also opt for a short boat ride on Lake Balaton to experience its serene beauty. After a relaxing day amidst nature, return to Budapest in the evening. Overnight stay in Budapest.
Day 5 : Departure from Budapest
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Budapest International Airport (approx. 20 km / 30–40 minutes) for your onward journey, carrying wonderful memories of Hungary’s rich culture, historic landmarks, and scenic landscapes.
