Day 01 : Arrival at Guwahati to Shillong (Approx. 100 km / 3 hrs)
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, begin your scenic drive towards Shillong, famously known as the “Scotland of the East.” En route, halt at the breathtaking Umiam Lake, a vast man-made reservoir surrounded by lush hills, perfect for photography and relaxation. Continue your journey through winding roads and pine forests to reach Shillong. After check-in, explore the vibrant Police Bazaar for local shopping and cafes. Enjoy the pleasant weather and stay overnight in Shillong.
Day 02 : Shillong Local Sightseeing (Approx. 30–40 km / Full Day)
After breakfast, explore the charming attractions of Shillong. Begin with the panoramic views from Shillong Peak, the highest point offering a bird’s-eye view of the city. Visit the sacred Elephant Falls, known for its tiered beauty. Continue to Don Bosco Museum showcasing Northeast India’s rich tribal heritage. Later, visit Ward's Lake and stroll through its landscaped gardens. End your day at Lady Hydari Park. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03 : Shillong to Cherrapunji (Approx. 55 km / 2 hrs)
Post breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on earth. En route, stop at Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint for stunning valley views. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, followed by the mesmerizing Seven Sisters Falls. Explore the limestone caves at Mawsmai Cave. Check into your hotel and enjoy the misty weather with an overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 04 : Double Decker Living Root Bridge Trek (Approx. 20 km drive + Trek)
After an early breakfast, proceed towards Tyrna village (approx. 20 km / 1 hr) and begin the trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge located in Nongriat village. This adventurous trek involves descending thousands of steps through dense forests and crossing hanging bridges. Witness the incredible bio-engineering of living root bridges formed by rubber trees. Spend time at natural pools like the Blue Lagoon before trekking back. Return to Cherrapunji by evening for a well-deserved overnight stay.
Day 05 : Cherrapunji to Mawlynnong & Dawki (Approx. 90 km / 3–4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Mawlynnong, renowned for its cleanliness and eco-friendly lifestyle. Explore the village, visit the Sky View Tower for Bangladesh plains views, and walk to the nearby Living Root Bridge Mawlynnong. Later continue to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River where boats appear to float in air. Enjoy boating and riverside relaxation. Overnight stay in Dawki or nearby.
Day 06 : Dawki to Shnongpdeng Adventure & Return to Shillong (Approx. 100 km / 4 hrs)
Post breakfast, visit Shnongpdeng, an emerging adventure hub offering activities like kayaking, zip-lining, snorkeling, and cliff jumping in the pristine Umngot River. Spend time enjoying these thrilling experiences amidst natural beauty. Later, drive back to Shillong via scenic countryside routes. Check into your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 07 : Shillong to Jowai & Krang Suri Falls (Approx. 65 km / 2.5 hrs one way)
After breakfast, take an excursion to Jowai in the Jaintia Hills. Visit the stunning Krang Suri Falls, known for its turquoise blue waters and picturesque surroundings, where you can even take a refreshing dip. Explore nearby viewpoints and enjoy the peaceful natural setting. Return to Shillong by evening for an overnight stay.
Day 08 : Shillong to Laitlum Canyon & Cultural Exploration (Approx. 25 km / Half Day)
After breakfast, visit the mesmerizing Laitlum Canyons, offering dramatic panoramic views of deep gorges and rolling hills—perfect for photography and peaceful walks. Later, explore local markets such as Police Bazaar or visit cafes to experience Shillong’s vibrant culture and music scene. You may also explore local handicrafts and Khasi cuisine. Day 09 : Shillong to Guwahati Departure (Approx. 100 km / 3 hrs)
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey. Enjoy the scenic return route with views of hills and valleys, carrying unforgettable memories of waterfalls, root bridges, crystal-clear rivers, and the serene beauty of Meghalaya.
