Wild Life & Birding Tour - 10 Days

Day 01 : Arrive at Ahmedabad

Welcome to Ahmedabad – Gujarat’s most vibrant city and a UNESCO World Heritage City. Upon arrival at the airport or railway station, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for leisure. You may explore nearby attractions such as the Sabarmati Riverfront, Kankaria Lake, or visit Manek Chowk for a taste of local street food. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

Day 02 : Ahmedabad – Nalsarovar – Ahmedabad (80 km one way / Approx. 2 hours each way)

After an early breakfast at the hotel, embark on a day trip to Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary, a tranquil lake and wetland that is home to over 200 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, herons, and migratory birds from Central Asia and Europe (best visited in the winter months). Enjoy a peaceful boat ride in the sanctuary and watch the birdlife in its natural habitat. Return to Ahmedabad by afternoon. Evening at leisure or optional visit to Adalaj Stepwell and Akshardham Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel in Ahmedabad.

Day 03 : Ahmedabad – Velavadar (143 km / Approx. 4 hours)

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Velavadar Blackbuck National Park, one of the best places in India to see blackbucks, wolves, and a wide variety of grassland birds. En route, enjoy scenic views of Gujarat’s countryside. Upon arrival, check in at your wildlife resort. The rest of the day is at leisure—relax in the serene surroundings or opt for an evening nature walk near the park boundaries. Overnight stay near Velavadar.

Day 04 : Velavadar National Park

Begin your day with breakfast at the resort followed by a thrilling early morning jeep safari in Velavadar National Park. The park’s golden grasslands are home to endangered blackbucks, Indian wolves, striped hyenas, nilgai, and a rich birdlife including harriers and eagles. After the safari, return to the resort for rest. In the late afternoon, head out for a second safari (optional) or visit nearby villages for a glimpse into rural Saurashtra life. Overnight stay at the resort in Velavadar.

Day 05 : Velavadar – Sasan Gir (247 km / Approx. 6 hours)

After breakfast, check out and proceed toward Sasan Gir, the only natural habitat of the Asiatic Lions in the world. The scenic drive passes through rustic countryside, farms, and local settlements. Upon arrival, check in at your jungle resort or lodge. Evening is free for relaxation or to enjoy a tribal dance performance (subject to availability). Overnight stay in Sasan Gir.

Day 06 : Sasan Gir – Jungle Safari

Today, enjoy early morning and/or afternoon jeep safaris (as per permit availability) in Gir National Park, a dry deciduous forest home to lions, leopards, jackals, hyenas, crocodiles, and over 300 species of birds. Explore the wilderness with expert naturalists who will help you spot wildlife and understand the region's ecology. In between safaris, visit the Interpretation Zone at Devaliya (optional) or relax at the resort. Overnight stay in Sasan Gir.

Day 07 : Sasan Gir – Junagadh (52 km / Approx. 1.5 hours)

After breakfast at the resort, drive to Junagadh, an ancient city nestled at the base of Mount Girnar. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and begin your city tour with visits to the majestic Uparkot Fort, the ornate Mahabat Maqbara, and the sacred Girnar Hill (optionally ascend the hill by ropeway or stairs for panoramic views and historic temples). Also visit the Ashokan Rock Edicts, dating back to the 3rd century BCE. Overnight stay in Junagadh.

Day 08 : Junagadh – Rajkot (103 km / Approx. 2 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Rajkot, a city known for its historical association with Mahatma Gandhi and rich heritage of craftsmanship. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and later visit Kaba Gandhi no Delo (Gandhi’s childhood home), Watson Museum, and Rotary Dolls Museum. Stroll through Ravivari Bazaar for local handicrafts. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Rajkot.

Day 09 : Rajkot – Little Rann of Kutch (145 km / Approx. 3 hours)

After a refreshing breakfast, depart for the Little Rann of Kutch, a unique salt marsh known for its wide-open landscapes and the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary. Upon arrival, check in at your eco-resort or desert lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari into the salt desert to spot wild asses, desert foxes, and various migratory birds like flamingos and cranes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay amidst the stark, beautiful wilderness.

Day 10 : Little Rann of Kutch – Ahmedabad (162 km / Approx. 4 hours)

Enjoy your final breakfast of the trip at the resort before beginning your return drive to Ahmedabad. On arrival, you will be dropped at the airport or railway station for your onward journey, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Gujarat’s wildlife, heritage, and vibrant culture.
