Day 01 : Arrival at Ahmedabad
Welcome to Ahmedabad, the vibrant city of Gujarat and a UNESCO World Heritage City. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and a short rest, head out for a local sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad. Visit the Sabarmati Ashram, the serene residence of Mahatma Gandhi set on the banks of the Sabarmati River. Later, explore the intricately carved Adalaj Stepwell, an architectural marvel from the 15th century. In the evening, enjoy a visit to the Kite Museum or take a walk along the Riverfront. Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.
Day 02 : Ahmedabad to Modhera – Patan (Approx. 230 km / 5 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Modhera, home to the magnificent Sun Temple, a masterpiece of Solanki architecture dating back to the 11th century. The temple is dedicated to the solar deity Surya and is known for its intricately carved walls and sacred kund (stepwell). After soaking in the architectural grandeur, continue your journey to Patan, famous for its Rani ki Vav (Queen’s Stepwell), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful stepwells in India, showcasing intricate sculptures and mythology-themed carvings. Also, if time permits, visit a local Patola weaving center to witness the ancient double ikat weaving technique. Overnight stay in Patan.
Day 03 : Patan to Dholavira (Approx. 260 km / 6–7 hrs)
Today, proceed to Dholavira, an archaeological treasure located on the isolated Khadir Bet island in the Great Rann of Kutch. The journey offers scenic desert landscapes and salt plains. Upon arrival, explore the Dholavira archaeological site, one of the most prominent and well-preserved urban settlements of the Indus Valley Civilization. Walk through ancient ruins including reservoirs, fortifications, and ceremonial grounds. Sunset at the salt desert in Dholavira is a surreal experience. Overnight stay in Dholavira.
Day 04 : Dholavira to Dhordo (Approx. 150 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, depart for Dhordo, the gateway to the White Rann of Kutch. Upon arrival, check in to your tented accommodation (especially vibrant if visiting during the Rann Utsav season). In the afternoon, visit the White Rann, a spectacular expanse of salt desert that stretches as far as the eye can see. Stay until sunset to witness the changing hues of the salt flats under the open sky—an unforgettable experience. Later, enjoy local folk music, dance performances, and Kutch cuisine. Overnight stay in Dhordo.
Day 05 : Dhordo – Mata no Madh – Koteshwar (Approx. 180 km / 5 hrs)
Post breakfast, begin your spiritual trail through Kutch with a visit to Mata no Madh, an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Ashapura, the revered deity of Kutch. The temple sees a steady stream of pilgrims and offers a beautiful blend of devotion and local architecture. Continue to Koteshwar, located at the westernmost tip of India, known for its tranquil seaside Koteshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The spot also offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and solitude unlike anywhere else. Overnight stay near Koteshwar or Narayan Sarovar.
Day 06 : Koteshwar to Mandvi (Approx. 150 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, travel south to the picturesque beach town of Mandvi. On arrival, visit the regal Vijay Vilas Palace, a summer retreat of the royal family of Kutch, surrounded by manicured gardens and a private beach. Then unwind at Mandvi Beach, known for its pristine waters and camel rides along the shore. You can also explore the historic Shipbuilding Yard, where craftsmen build traditional wooden dhows by hand. Enjoy a calm seaside evening. Overnight stay in Mandvi.
Day 07 : Mandvi to Bhuj (Approx. 60 km / 1.5 hrs)
This morning, drive to Bhuj, the cultural heart of Kutch. On arrival, explore Bhuj’s royal legacy by visiting the Aina Mahal, a unique blend of Indian and European architecture adorned with mirrors, and the adjacent Prag Mahal, a grand 19th-century palace with a European-Gothic façade. Later, shop for world-renowned Kutchi handicrafts in Bhujodi village, home to weavers, block printers, and artisans. In the evening, enjoy a tranquil stroll by Hamirsar Lake. Overnight stay in Bhuj.
Day 08 : Bhuj to Ahmedabad Departure (Approx. 330 km / 7–8 hrs)
After an early breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Ahmedabad. The drive takes you through rural landscapes, salt pans, and colorful villages. You’ll be dropped at Ahmedabad airport or railway station for your onward journey, carrying with you the rich heritage, vibrant colors, and soulful experiences of Gujarat.
