Classic Bihar – 7 Days

Day 01 : Arrival in Patna

Welcome to Patna, the ancient city of Pataliputra and the current capital of Bihar. Upon arrival at Patna Airport or Railway Station, our representative will receive you and assist with your hotel transfer. Check in and relax after your journey. The rest of the day is at leisure. You may explore the riverfront along the Ganga, local markets, or simply unwind at the hotel. Overnight stay in Patna.

Day 02 : Patna Sightseeing

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Patna. Visit the historic Golghar, an 18th-century granary with stunning city views, followed by the Patna Museum, which houses ancient sculptures, Buddhist relics, and a casket believed to contain Lord Buddha’s ashes. Next, proceed to Kumhrar, the archaeological site of ancient Pataliputra. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Takht Sri Patna Sahib, a sacred site for Sikhs where Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born. Also, explore the Bihar Museum, a modern repository of the state’s cultural and historical heritage. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03 : Patna – Bodh Gaya (110 km / approx. 3 hours)

After morning breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Bodh Gaya, the holiest site of Buddhism where Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Begin your exploration with a visit to the Mahabodhi Temple Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses the Bodhi Tree, Vajrasana, and several monasteries built by Buddhist countries. The spiritual aura of the site is truly moving. You may also attend the evening prayer session or meditate in the temple garden. Overnight stay in Bodh Gaya.

Day 04 : Excursion to Nalanda and Rajgir (approx. 150 km round trip / 5-6 hours total)

After a refreshing breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a day trip to Nalanda and Rajgir. Begin with Nalanda University ruins, one of the world’s oldest residential universities, active from the 5th to 12th centuries. Visit the Nalanda Archaeological Museum and Hiuen Tsang Memorial Hall. Later, head to Rajgir, an ancient city nestled in hills, where Lord Buddha delivered many teachings. Visit Griddhakuta (Vulture's Peak), Vishwa Shanti Stupa via ropeway, Venu Van, and Ajatshatru Fort. Return to Bodh Gaya by evening and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 05 : Bodh Gaya – Vaishali – Kushinagar (Approx. 280 km / 7–8 hours)

After an early breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin the journey towards Kushinagar with a stop at Vaishali en route. In Vaishali, visit the Ashokan Pillar, Buddha Stupa, and World Peace Pagoda. Vaishali was the site of Buddha’s last sermon and also the birthplace of Lord Mahavira, making it sacred for both Buddhists and Jains. After exploration, continue your journey to Kushinagar, where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and rest. Overnight stay in Kushinagar.

Day 06 : Kushinagar – Lumbini (Approx. 150 km / 4–5 hours, including border crossing)

Enjoy a morning breakfast at the hotel, then explore Kushinagar, an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, housing the reclining statue of Lord Buddha, the Rambhar Stupa (cremation site), and the Wat Thai Temple. After sightseeing, depart for Lumbini in Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Complete immigration formalities at the India-Nepal border and continue to Lumbini. On arrival, check in to the hotel. If time permits, visit the Maya Devi Temple, the exact spot where Buddha was born. Overnight stay in Lumbini.

Day 07 : Lumbini – Patna Drop (Approx. 280 km / 8–9 hours)

After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Patna. En route, reflect on the sacred trail you’ve just experienced, from enlightenment to nirvana. Upon arrival in Patna, you will be dropped at the airport or railway station for your onward journey, carrying deep spiritual impressions and lasting memories of this meaningful pilgrimage.
